Deployment Checklist
Jump to any stage of the onsite setup journey.
Step 01
Power Connection
Stabilise the power foundation for the ProWatchly edge appliance.
- Connect the included power adapter to the ProWatchly setup box.
- Use a surge-protected outlet where possible to minimise downtime risks.
- Confirm LED indicators show steady power before proceeding.
Step 02
Display Connection
Provide a live monitor so the customer can visualise their deployment.
- Attach a monitor to the setup box using HDMI (preferred), DisplayPort, or VGA.
- Ensure the monitor is powered and set to the correct input source.
Step 03
Network Setup
Connect the device to the site network and establish data paths for cameras.
IP Cameras
- Connect a PoE (Power over Ethernet) switch to the setup box via LAN.
- Verify the uplink port delivers both power and data to attached cameras.
DVR-Based Systems
- Link the DVR to the ProWatchly setup box with a LAN cable.
- Check that you can reach the DVR web console from the ProWatchly device.
These networking steps are typically completed alongside a Gemmiz technical consultant to ensure alignment with the customer’s security policy.
Step 04
Camera Installation
Mount and energise each camera before you map zones inside ProWatchly.
- Patch every camera into the PoE switch or DVR using rated Ethernet cables.
- Confirm link lights appear on both the switch/DVR and the camera housing.
- Label each cable or port to simplify future maintenance.
Step 05
Power Up & Verify
Bring the system online and check end-to-end signal flow.
- Power on the ProWatchly setup box and wait for the OS to fully load.
- Ensure the monitor, PoE switch, DVR, and cameras remain powered and responsive.
- Record any anomalies to share with support if onsite remediation is needed.
Step 06
System Configuration & Login
Complete the initial software configuration and hand off credentials to the customer.
Initial Boot
- Allow the ProWatchly appliance to complete all first-boot processes.
System Login
- Sign in with the default credentials:
- Username: client
- Password: helloclient
Launch the Application
- Open the ProWatchly application from the desktop or start menu.
- Log in using the customer-specific credentials supplied by Gemmiz.
